Today in Ukraine, there is a noticeable gap between young people's career expectations and the real needs of the labor market.
Many teenagers choose popular fields, while the country is already experiencing a severe shortage of specialists in engineering, manufacturing, energy, medicine, logistics, and reconstruction.
According to various estimates, Ukraine will need approximately 1.5 million specialists in critically important fields in the coming years.
At the same time, teenagers and young adults often face career choices alone. Career guidance in Ukraine remains fragmented: schools, educational projects, businesses, internships, career events, and online resources exist separately, but for a young person, this rarely forms a coherent, understandable path — from interest to real opportunities, first experience, and professional development.
That is why The Kateryna Osadcha Foundation is launching a large-scale nationwide study on the career guidance needs of teenagers and young adults aged 16–20.
Its goal is to better understand:
— which professional fields interest young people;
— how teenagers envision their professional future;
— what they currently lack most when choosing a profession;
— and what systemic solutions can help connect the needs of young people with Ukraine's future labor market.
We invite teenagers, young adults, schools, and educational communities to participate in the study.
After completing the questionnaire, you will be able to:
✨ take a short test and learn more about your strengths and "superpowers";
✨ receive an e-guide "Your Career" with information on modern professions, future skills, and development opportunities;
✨ participate in a prize draw from Katia Osadcha and friends of the Foundation;
✨ and some participants will also be able to visit leading companies, talk to specialists, and see modern professions in practice.
The survey is conducted by the Charitable Organization 'Kateryna Osadcha Foundation', prepared by CONNECTA CONSULTING at the request of the Charitable Organization 'Kateryna Osadcha Foundation' with the support of the 'Askold and Dir' Foundation, administered by ISAR Ednannia within the framework of the project 'Strong Civil Society of Ukraine – a Driver of Reforms and Democracy' with funding from Norway and Sweden.
